These Terms of Service govern the use of the Stepmode tools, applications, and services available at stepmode.net. By accessing or using our tools, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.
2. Eligibility
Stepmode is intended exclusively for internal use by members of the Stepmode team. No external users, clients, or third parties are permitted to use the service without explicit authorization.
3. Facebook Assets, Roles & Permissions
Stepmode connects to the Facebook Marketing API through authorized app tokens. Your access to specific data and features (Ad Accounts, Pages, Businesses, and Comments) depends on the roles and permissions assigned to your Facebook account within Facebook Business Manager.
Adding Assets: You can connect your Facebook account and select specific Pages, Ad Accounts, and Business Managers using the "Continue with Facebook" button. You must grant the requested permissions to allow Stepmode to access and manage your data.
Page Management: By connecting your Pages, you authorize Stepmode to retrieve engagement insights, public post data, and perform content moderation (such as viewing and deleting comments) as permitted by your Facebook role.
Ad Account & Business Management: Stepmode retrieves detailed performance metrics, spending data, billing thresholds, and business manager structures to provide centralized management and analytics.
Reconnecting & Refreshing: You may be required to reconnect your Facebook account periodically to refresh access tokens or update granted permissions. This can be done via the "Reconnect" option on the Facebook Profiles page.
Removing Assets: To remove an account or revoke access, you can use the Facebook Profiles page within the App to disconnect your account, or do so through your Facebook account's Business Integrations settings.
Regulations: All users must comply with Facebook’s Platform Policies, ensuring that access is not misused, shared, or exposed publicly.
You agree to use the tools solely for authorized business operations related to Stepmode’s internal work processes.
4. Data Usage
The service processes advertising account data only as necessary for analytics and performance insights. No personal data is sold, shared, or used outside Stepmode.
You agree not to store or export data outside the tools unless explicitly intended and approved.
5. Prohibited Activities
Sharing access tokens or credentials with unauthorized individuals.
Attempting to bypass Facebook API restrictions or protections.
Using Stepmode for any illegal or abusive activities.
Reverse-engineering or attempting to extract sensitive system logic.
6. Service Availability
Stepmode is provided “as is” without guarantees of uptime, performance, or future availability. Features may change or be discontinued at any time without notice.
7. Limitation of Liability
Stepmode is not responsible for any losses, data issues, or damages resulting from the use of the tools, including API outages or Facebook platform changes.
8. Termination
Access may be revoked at any time if policies are violated or if misuse is detected. Stepmode reserves the right to restrict or disable system access without prior notice.
